It's all in the numbers for this Like A Version, as 3% tackled 5 Seconds Of Summer. Two acts from different corners of the musical spectrum sounds like a tough ask but trust us, it works.
The First Nations trio - made up of Nooky, Dallas Woods and Angus Field - stepped into the studio with a host of mob they "picked up on the way" including Yirrmal on the didgeridoo, Mikaisha on backing vocals and dancers Brianna and Lacy.
"We like to let the mob in the building," Nooky said.
"We've walked through doors that have been kicked down for us," Dallas added.
"Now it's our turn to kick down the doors for them."
And the message they brought after exploding through the studio doors was about the young blood of Indigenous communities, especially those in the Northern Territory.
"I didn't know what I was going to do at the start," Nooky said.
"And then seeing everything that's happening around, you know, with the Northern Territory reducing the age of criminal responsibility back to 10 year olds.
"I didn't intend to take it there, but that's what, you know, the ancestors done. The old people. They guided me that way."
A powerful and deeply special debut in the Like A Version studio.
