King Stingray covers Royel Otis 'Oysters In My Pocket' for Like A Version

It's legends covering legends as King Stingray return to the Like A Version studio to tackle Royel Otis' 'Oysters In My Pocket'.

Hot off the back of sweeping the 2024 ARIA Awards, the Sydney duo have now been given the royal treatment from King Sting and a very special guest - Jem Cassar-Daley.

But the reason the Northeast Arnhem Land band chose the specific song? Because they bloody love oysters.

"We fuel up on seafood, that's how we did this last record," guitarist Roy Kellaway said.

"Eating lots of seafood - and oysters were eaten, I'm pretty sure, every single day we recorded the new album."

The seafood found in the waters by Yirrkala where Roy and fellow King Sting shredder and vocalist Dimathaya Burarrwanga grew up also has deep connections to the Yolŋu people.

"It's really significant from Yolŋu upbringing," Dima said.

"My people are always singing oysters and all the creatures that live under the ocean. So that's based on songlines and significant areas that Yolŋu believed in."

Following their hearts (and stomachs) for their second showing in the Like A Version studio has produced an unreal result for King Stingray.
