There's been a major step forward in the plan to build a large solar farm on a property in the Northern Midlands.
Tasmanian company TasRex is developing the solar farm and has now signed an agreement with Hydro for the state owned company to purchase the energy produced on a farm at Cressy.
Tasmanian Energy Minister Nick Duigan says the solar farm will become the fourth biggest energy producer in the state.
