Lindsay Wright started working for the ABC's Rural department in 1972 and spent decades reporting from various locations around the nation.

He hosted the NT Country Hour just after Cyclone Tracy swept through in 1974.

On the 79th anniversary of the Country Hour's first broadcast, Lindsay spoke to current presenter Matt Brann about his memories of Darwin after the cyclone, an interview about chooks with Roy Orbison, and his thoughts on the future of Australia's longest-running radio program.
