The Commonwealth Bank has unveiled major changes that will see some customers using one of the banks most commonly held accounts charged $3 to withdraw their own money.

Commonwealth Bank customers who have a "Complete Access" account will be moved to "Smart Access" accounts, starting from January 6, 2025.

In a statement, the bank says the changes are part of their "commitment to provide the best available banking experiences".

But FSU National Secretary Julia Angrisano has told ABC NewsRadio’s Sarah Morice the move is unfair to customers.
