It’s safe to say that the team at Laneway HQ really went above and beyond this year. Getting onboard global superstars like Charli XCX, Clairo and Barry Can’t Swim on this year’s festival bill, Laneway punters are bound to catch some heat at this summer festival.

On top of that, there’s plenty of local fire to go around too, acts like STÜM, Ninajirachi and Skegss are also set to take to the big stage all over the country too!

Dazzling audiences with their uniqueness and dynamic qualities, each

… and we’re absolutely buzzing to be adding one local artist to their hometown leg.

We’ve been searching far and wide through the depths of the triple j Unearthed website, keeping track of everything…. Who’s playing where? Who’s supporting the big names in the biz? Which artists have had major releases? Which acts have created a cult live following or booming community? The list goes on…

And now, we’ve curated five acts you need to catch in your hometown at Laneway festival…

Here they are!

DEVAURA

Bursting into the Australian Music scene in 2023 with a commitment to reinvigorating storytelling and world-building, meet DEVUARA.

Known for her powerful vocals as a singer and fierce bars as a rapper, the versatile artist has become a favourite in the local music scene, turning industry heads. She completely blew the triple j Unearthed team away from her genesis and she’s an act we’ve been keeping a close eye on since.

Coming through as one of our 2024 draft picks, Laneway NSW audiences be prepared to experience her excellence!

Miles Nautu

Now here’s an act who’ll stop you in your tracks!

If you’re not already across Miles Nautu and have plans on heading down to Laneway QLD, then you’d be silly not to catch this rising force. Inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$ and more, this big thinker creates with weight and intentionalism.

And if that hasn’t sold you yet, his band are definitely a crew to rave on about. With fellow local artist, instrumentalist extraordinaire Nikodimos joining him and other band members playing with jazz legend Herbie Hancock, we can’t wait to watch him create magic this summer.

The Vovos

Meet Ada, Lu, Beth, Mika and Ruby, they’re the besties who reside in Naarm / Melbourne and together make up the rockiest of girl rock bands if we’ve ever seen one!

Twine

HUGE day to be a Twine fan as not only have they just dropped their debut album, but they’ve also just won the triple j Unearthed competition to rep their hometown at Laneway SA…. *Screaming*.

Described as the combination of barrelling noise rock and wounded, stinging country, this five-piece have a growing catalogue of creations weighted in depth of the human condition combined with questionings about the wider world that surrounds them. Fused with so much life from varied instrumentation, they’re an act you won’t wanna miss.

They’ll be playing a bunch of headline shows in New Zealand right before they take to stage at Laneway SA, proving they’re a very well well-oiled machine they are!
