Man dead, another injured after wall collapses at Inglewood construction site

A 69-year-old man has died at a construction site in the north-eastern Perth suburb of Inglewood.

Emergency services were called to Sexton Road on Thursday afternoon, where a wall collapsed.

Police confirmed the man had died, while a 26-year-old man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA for treatment.

St John said the younger man was in a serious condition.

The suburban street has been cordoned off, with detectives and firefighters conducting inquiries both inside and outside the residential property where construction was taking place.

The home appears to be under renovation, and there are several construction vehicles outside including a front loader and a truck.

Numerous construction workers have been seen exiting the home.

It's unknown at this stage what caused the brick wall to collapse. 

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

WorkSafe representatives are at the scene.
